Vera is lying at the foot of the Sierra Nevada and if you stay along the coast you come - in a southerly direction - soon into the protected nature reserve of Cabo de Gata. If you head north, Cartagena is a very pleasant city for a day trip to stay. The Alhambra in Granada is a good 2-hour drive away but is warm to the touch recommend. Certainly reserve tickets in advance! Restaurants in Vera and its surroundings we find the trouble:
§ Lua: has recently moved to the roundabout at the Consum supermarket: one of the better ones restaurants in the area. They eat according to Spanish times.
§ Marau is a very nice beach club with a restaurant in a beautiful setting. Depends on it beach near Puerto Rey at the former location of Lua.
§ is Koa a new restaurant on the roundabout near hotel Vera Playa. Casual but good well cared for and not expensive.
§ B2 Mohana Vera playa on the beach: good kitchen for the right price.
§ Pomodoro is a chiringuito on the beach in Vera with excellent pizza and fresh fish dishes.
§ Boracay Garrucha on the beach. Trendy and cared for.
§ Juan Moreno is lying in Vera center is probably the best restaurant in the region (Michelin and Gault Milleau mention), but the price is relatively good.
§ A real highlight is Riad Cabrera Turre. It is a short drive through the mountains of the Sierra Cabrera, but it pays! Good food in Moroccan style, both in terms of decoration and culinary.
§ If you want good food at a good price, you should go to Solare in Turre. In the centre but a nice terrace and friendly service.
GOLF COURSES
IN THE AREA OF VERA PLAYA
The region has some of the best golf courses in Spain. These golf courses distinguish themselves by the environment in which they are laid out, for example the Desert Springs Golf Club in Cuevas del Amanzora, about 10 minutes drive from Vera Playa. This is the first desert-like golf course in Europe. Another golf course in the immediate vicinity is Club Marina Golf Mojacar. This course is located 200 meters from the beach in Mojacar. The course consists of two parts with you at the first 9 holes overlooks the Mediterranean Sea and the next 9 holes over the Sierra Cabrera. On 15 minutes from Vera is the Cortijo Grande Club de Golf in Turre. This terrain is located at at the foot of a mountain and surrounded by many fruit trees (lemon and orange). In Valle del Este is the Valle del Este Golf Club which has been chosen as one of best 25 golf courses in Spain.
